Teleport Access Services Inc. (TAS) announced the successful launch of a new DVB-S2 MCPC platform on JCSAT-3A to distribute television and radio programs to audiences in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region.
 
This new platform is the first DVB-S2 distribution platform launched to serve the CATV systems in Taiwan. TAS operates the MCPC DVB-S2 platform and provides fiber connectivity, turnaround, uplink, playout and encrypted services for broadcasters.
 
The new platform is on JCSAT-3A which located on the orbit of 128 degrees East, it currently delivers around 20 television channels, broadcasting programs in Chinese for the CATV operators. With the use of a full 36 MHz C-band transponder and the more efficient DVB-S2 technology, the new platform is expected to carry an expanding array of premier programming to serve multiple markets across the Asia-Pacific region.
